 "old friends!" 2009-06-26
By Chris (Muskegon, MI)
This is my second pair of Felco pruners. I'm sure I would have enjoyed my first pair for much longer than the 14-plus years I had owned them if I hadn't lost them. I'm thinking they may have somehow ended up in a leaf-recycling bag or buried in a hole with a transplanted shrub. It was springtime and I was pretty much helpless in the yard without them. They perform very well, are durable, and fit comfortably in hand. I wouldn't even consider any other brand.

"FELCO is rated a buy!" 2008-11-11
By Stephen J. Wilson (South Carolina)
I needed to replace my girl's beloved "rose pruners" that I broke - it simply snapped apart when I tried to cut a 3/8 inch root!

When I found the Felco's for sale I jumped on this one - great price, best in class quality.

I ran a Professional XMAS tree farm and I and other growers all used Felco's. The price may seem high but you'll forget that in 15 years when these are still working and you realize you would likely be on your 15th toy trimmer - buy quality the first time - these last - you will not be disappointed.Felco Classic Manual Pruning Shears #F-5

"These things are great! Get one. " 2008-06-27
By John Kleinjans (SF Bay Area, CA USA)
I bought mine maybe 20 years ago. I love it. There are been days when I cut with it for hours, and get a lot of work done -- it keeps on cutting, my hand doesn't cramp, I don't get frustrated with it, it doesn't get dull on me. I've sharpened it a couple times over the years. I haven't had to replace any parts. You have to adjust the nut to get the right tension on the hinge -- but it is adjustable, and it stays adjusted. Every once in a while you have to clean it, because plant juices dry on it, and dirt sticks to that. Not a problem.

You get one of these, you can work for hours, and you get a lot of work done. I bought one for my wife, so now we don't have to pass it back and forth, take turns using it, or discuss who gets to use the Felco, and who has to use the lousier tool.

I got big hands. There's another one for smaller hands.

There is nothing I can say about this wonderfull tool. I have had Felco pruners for years and the Felco 4 works best for me.

I usually get it cleaned and sharpened every year and it keeps working like new. My most recent purchase was a result of me giving my old one to my mother.

At the price that Amazon was offering, its a no brainer!!!!

I'm using these clippers to trim my goat's hooves. They're very sharp and easy to use, like cutting through warm butter. They seem to be well made. Purchased them from Sandy's Antiques, very prompt delivery, very satisfactory price, and very good customer sevice. I highly recommend this product.

By Cheryl Thurber (Baltimore, Maryland USA)
I bought mine in the 1980s. I never let anyone else use them. They have probably stayed close to the same price. I misplaced mine for about a year and thought they might have come out of my suitcase. I had taken them with me to do fine pruning for my daughter. I looked everywhere and finally found them in the kitchen. I am glad to have them back since they really do make a difference. I use these when I want to prune properly. These really are the best, and it is nice when left-handers don't have to settle for mediocre.

I don't know why, but these pruners are listed under two different descriptions but are clearly the same product. I have already reviewed them under the other description but I am happy to reiterate my support of them. This is a quality tool that can easily be re-sharpened and parts replaced. I have had mine for over ten years and am convinced that unless I lose them they will outlive me! If you are left-handed these are an essential gardening tool. I don't know of another manufacturer of left-handed pruners.

By F. L. Owens (Tidewater, VA, USA)
These pruners will last for as long as you can stand to take care of them. They are comfortable, durable, and trustworthy to cut through anything you can get the blade around (anything organic, that is). Complete disassembly for cleaning is easy and intuitive. I've used a pair at work for years and they keep going and going, so now that I'm on to a new job, I had to buy a pair of my own! They are completely worth the money, especially if they are going to get some heavy use.

Felco Classic Pruner with Comfortable Ergonomic Design #F-8

Buy Low Price From Here Now

The Felco ergonomic hand pruner sports a strong anvil blade and is an ideal choice for light day-to-day pruning. Users will benefit from the pruner's lightweight construction and handle design that resists slipping. Easy to use, the pruner tackles tasks such as cutting back an overgrown hydrangea or removing a sickly pansy patch with minimal stress on user hands and wrists. The pruner's anvil blades are crafted with hardened Swiss carbon steel blades that offer frictionless slicing and resist rust. With a fine blade adjustment and a wire cutting notch, the blades easily cut through branches, stems, and wires up to 1-inch in diameter. The light metal handles are forged for durability and pivot on tough, replaceable pins rather standard rivets. A cushioned stop keeps the blades from opening unexpectedly or overly wide. The pruner measures 8-1/2 inches long and weighs only 8.7-ounces, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

I have purchased many brands of pruning shears and this brand is by far the best. I have had to work to find the unlock/lock lever on them, as it is on the opposite side of the brand I had previously. I love this pruner and it is comfortable. No hand-fatigue.

I have purchased many pruners over the years and was hesitant to spend a little more than i am used to paying as i have always purchased from the big box hardware stores and local garden shops and went for the pruners on sale. These pruners are worth every penny. When i decided to take the leap and spend the money for Felco i researched and found that Amazon had the best price even with the shipping charge. The Post Office delivered fast and professional.I am impressed with the quality and durability of these pruners.I just wished i would have bought them sooner.

"Yup, these are good ones alright!" 2009-06-22
By TacomaDrone (Tacoma, WA)
Have used these for three months now. Used them on Maple, Apple, Juniper and Cedar trees as well as various bushes at my home. I'm not meticulous about cleaning them after use and I have no rust or corrosion and I live in the wet and rainy Pacific Northwest. I think maybe I've sprayed them twice with Dupont Teflon Multi-Lube. They seem as sharp as the day I bought them. They are easier to use than my ratchet-type pruner or my anvil-type pruner. Amazon says these will handle 1" branches and I'd have to say that's pretty accurate. I've successfully tackled some bigger stuff but probably should have used my loppers on those.

"Felco Pruner is the last pruner you'll ever buy" 2009-05-16
By Libby (Atlanta, GA)
I'm an avid gardener and have purchased dozens of pruners (many twice the cost of the Felco) over the years. Never have I had the pleasure of pruning all day and having a rested, uncramped hand that night. Purchase the one that fits you best--#12 for small hands, #9 for lefties or #8 for right-handed average to large hands. You'll never purchase another pruner again. Makes a great house warming or hostess gift.

"Best pruner for smaller hands." 2009-03-26
By G. Powell (Seattle, WA USA)
I bought a set of these pruners for my girlfriend. She had a set of no-name bypass cutters from one of those big box hardware stores. The joint was loose on those, the blade rusty and she kept mashing the stems of the roses I bought her, so what was I to do? I own a set of the F-2's and wasn't going to give those up. So I got her a set of F-6's. Besides the handles being closer together, the bottom cutter on these cutters is replaceable and is narrower than the F-2's. So you can slip these cutters into a smaller spot. Not that it happens all that often.

On hand sizes, I wear a XXL work glove, (I have long fingers) she wears a Ladies L, which is a Men's M work glove. So if you have really tiny hands in comparison these cutters may still be too big for you. I can use either the F-2 or the F-6 but I prefer my F-2's, with the reverse being true for her.

She's delighted with these cutters. You will be too, you'll never go back to those other cutters.

 "BEST PRUNER'S EVER" 2009-09-09
By Zachary P. Piasta (Western, New York)
I didn't buy these Felco Pruner's Online at Amazon..I'm a Landscaper that's been in business and using Felco pruners for well over 6 years I've used them to cut branches that no other pruners would not. I would NEVER switch to anything else. They never break, and the blade's are replacable if you ever ding the blade were it can not be repaired. Now that I know there here on Amazon, I plan on buying another pair, just in case I end up losing the one's I have. There more than worth the money whether your using them for commercial use or just residental. They will cut any hardwood branch you need them to. Garenteed. And for the person who put them as three stars because of rust; you need to oil them and keep them in better care than leaving them out in the yard at night..they stay in my truck toolbox even during the winter and as long as you oil them once a week; they will be fine.

The Felco pruners are not just the best pruners - they are the ONLY pruners anyone should ever purchase. I've had mine for twelve years and I've replaced the blades and springs a number of times - very few companies offer replacement parts - it's a real plus for Felcos. Whether you're attracted to the basic F-2 or any of the others they are wonderful. Amazon sells them at the best price.
