This is one of those things that you aren't sure will work when you buy it, although you hope it will.
Well, this is worth the money in my case. I have shrubs that are eight feet high and about six feet thick.
Previously I used a gas powered trimmer while standing on an eight foot stepladder. Gets old fast and hurts your arms after reaching out so far. This electric pole trimmer can trim the top without a ladder and with a short ladder can reach across the top. My only concern was whether the battery would last long enough or provide enough power. Both concerns were needless. I have never ran out of battery power in 30 minutes of trimming.

I have used this along the path to the dock in North Carolina, trimming hard-to-get azaleas, holly trees. Very good product.

After charging the battery overnight, I used the trimmer to cut back the wysteria that grows over my arbor that runs the length of my garage. The arbor is eight feet tall and can not be trimmed at the top without standing on a ladder. By holding up this pole trimmer, I did not need a ladder and all of the moving around of the ladder that was require. With the pole trimmer, I could stay on the ground and was done is a matter of minutes. While I had bought the trimmer for the wysteria, I noticed in the instructions that it had a head that would move at a 90 degree angle to the pole. I now realized that I could use it to trim the 15 ferns, the eight heather plants, and the many bushes that I have. This product is going to prove to be a real time saver and a tool that will make trimming easier because it is cordless.

Works well for hard to reach hedges. I little heavier then expected but has been a good tool.

I have a very steeply banked ditch in the front of my property. I couldn't get a mower or a weedeater to get in to cut the weeds down. I was thinking if someone would put a hedge trimmer on a shaft it would work perfectly. Along comes Black & Decker with their NPT318, the very tool I needed. It works great. For being battery powered it really mows down the weeds. The head angles to match the slope of the ditch. The only feature I would have included is a strap. It is heavier than a regular weed eater.
