"Light weight but low on power" 2009-10-26
By Warren Marsh (Atlanta GA)
This pole saw has good reach and is easy to wield without having herculean strength. The only problem is the batteries do not last long. Maybe 2 cuts on a 7"D tree. I have 3 batteries from the other pole products which helps. I would not buy this product unless you had other batteries as it may take weeks to complete your project just charging batteries. It only really sticks when it is running low on juice, so just change your batteries at that time. I have little to compare this too not owning a gas powered saw, but I just cannot stand the fumes from them so here I am.

 "Better than expected" 2009-10-26
By Charles Vanslyke
I received the pole saw in two days from ordering it. I have used it for about 5 hours so far clearing over hanging limbs on the road to my home. I was really impressed with the battery life and the speed the saw cut the branches. I have three other batteries but I was ready to take a break when the battery needed changing. The battery lasted about 40 minutes of run time. I would highly recommend this pole saw. Well worth the money.

 "Great yard tool!" 2009-10-13
By Kourtney Seaton (Phoenix, AZ)
This is the best yard tool I have ever purchased. Works even better than expected. I am a woman, 45+ years of age and have NO problem balancing the chain saw, even with both extensions connected! Perfect balance. Little chain saw is not that heavy and yet cut through some fairly large branches (5-6"). Battery lasts about 30-35 minutes, so - not a bad idea to have a second battery for longer branch trimming sessions (about an hour is enough for me!) VERY happy with this tool - I have since purchased the B&D 18v blower and string-trimmer to complete my yard tool set (and the 18v B&D batteries can be shared!)

 "Works great" 2009-10-11
By V. Buchanan
I bought this pole chainsaw to cut branches that were too high for me to reach normally. After reading the instructions thoroughly several times, I got the nerve to try it. Worked great using the first two parts, but it was a little heavy. You really do need to check the chain for loosening the first time you use it. It does loosen. And, you have to be careful with small branches that wiggle. The larger ones cut great. I have not tried the extra middle extension because I'm worried it will be too heavy for me. I'll have to find a neighbor to help me out. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with it. I'm 5'1" and 61 years old. I'm sure someone a little stronger would be able to use it just fine at the longer length.

 "I Love It ... But ???" 2009-10-03
By Tony Thiel (Kauai, Hawaii)
OK, I love the unit for what it can do, but??? What's the but about?

The description on the length reads: "Extends to reach up to 14 feet" Well ... Not Exactly!

The whole unit when put together extends to 115 1/2" which is only 9 feet 7 1/2 inches which is a far cry from the 14ft they're touting it to be. Now assuming that most people are at least 4 1/2 ft tall, then we can get it up to 14 ft. BUT if you're a midget ... then you're SOL!

When taken apart, the handle section measures 39", the mid section 39" and the chain section 40 1/2". The sections plugs (yes PLUGS because there are two prongs that connects to provide the electrical circuit) into each other. There's a sleeve (on the extension (middle) pole and the chain pole sections) that screws on to the other section that secures the thing together.

However I find that even if I tighten the sleeves as hard as I can, it still has a little wobble and I am fearful that at some point in time (through wear and tear) that the sections may snap apart. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but we'll see what happens as time goes by. Also, maybe I should wear one of those YELLOW construction type protective helmets in case the thing falls on my head! LOL!

BTW someone had question about purchasing an extra extension (middle section)to make it reach further. I can't see it NOT working since it just plugs into the other extension. The only questions I have is if there's enough output power (umph) to still power the saw, how much faster (if any) does it drain the battery and most importantly .. the stability of the thing. May not be too stable as it would become top heavy.

But like I said " I LOVE THE THING ". It certainly beats these pole saws that gets tangled up amongst the branches as you try to saw a branch off. And manually sawing above your head is rather tiring on the arms and shoulders, not to mention ... it literally becomes a PAIN IN THE NECK! Also, after a couple of minutes of sawing above your head, your arms and shoulders begins to feel like they're going to fall off.

At least this thing knocks off the overhead branches in just a few seconds and I've even knocked off 5" thick branches. Try that with a manual pole saw and see if the saw blade doesn't bend or worse yet ... get's stuck and you can't get it off! And that's when the expletives come out! @#@#$! and more @#@#$ !

I have an overgrown Lychee tree in my yard and several bushy trees next door in an empty lot (which is devouring my yard) .. and this thing is a blessing to have as I can cut things down in a big hurry.

My only other contention is when trying to cut big branches on the ground into smaller pieces, you have to connect the handle and the chain sections together which makes it 77" (over six feet)long. At that point it's easier to use a stand alone chain saw.

It would have been more functional if one can just attach a short handle directly to the chain saw, but I can see why they don't do it. It would require several sections which would make it a lot less sturdy.

Hope this review helps some with so many others already expressing their opinions. Hope I've given you something different. Enjoy!
