I found that the shears bend and twist if you attempt to cut a branch at an angle under 50 degree instead of a straight 90 degree to the branch. of course this is not a problem with very small branches, best for flower stems etc

I have found these awkward to use: large for small hands; they don't open far enough to get around average sized stems or branches; and they lock constantly, necessitating several squeezes to open again. Sorry I bought it, plus I bought a pair I gave as a gift.

I've been using the same pruners for the last 12+ years. Got them at a home show and cut everything with them. Yes, I have trouble if I don't cut straight across a branch but other then that, no problems. Large, small, tree branches and flowers. For years I had a 10' by 70' garden and a veggy garden in Atlanta and now the wife and I have 10 gardens around our property. I'm only looking at this product so I can get one for my wife. Mine's still going. I do need to sharpen the blade but it's been a long time and a lot of use. Also like it cause it's easy to lock and place in my back pocket.

I purchased these to replace a like pair that I lost to divorce.
I loved that first pair and thought these were identical. Unfortunately, Fiskars seems to have lowered their quality in the last 7 years.
I still like Fiskars and I like these pruners. However, they are made in China and you should probably go for the cheaper, no name brand that admits to being made in China.

I am very pleased with the purchase of my Fiskar Ratchet Pruner #7685.
I have arthritis in my fingers and have been unable to return to my gardening. Now thanks to my ratchet pruner, I am back in business. My
husband was very skeptical of this purchase; however, since I can now
help him in the yard, he thinks I made a wise decision. The cost was
unbelievable and I would certianly recommend this product to anyone.
Sincerely
