I am hoping amazon stops carrying this product after they receive the one I am returning. I felt compelled to write this review, as I have recommended the wallace pruner Wallace Bypass Pruner #9685. This product is as bad as the other is good. I used it once, and it com pletely fell apart; that is, the saw blade feel out of the handle. It seems to be rivited with a small pin which does not go completely through. I suppose this was for the sake of appearance, but maybe was just not done properly on this particular one. The pin is both what hold the blade in place, and allows it to fold- an important component. Given that there is nto much to assembling this item, I'd guess that it was done on an assewmbly line where output was considered more important than quality, or, in this case safety. Occasionally I find something out of China which is both well made and cost effective. because the pruner was solidly built, I thought maybe this company was one which made such products. I do't want to disparage them wholesale based on one bad tool, but it has set me back to where I was before I purchased the pruner; not a company I would look to but from.



I should also note that aside from the improperly drilled/ set pin, the saw blade was flimsy, not substantial enough for its length, and frustrasting to use, of a poorer quality than any other folding saw I've owned (and we have a half dozen or so).



Wish I could recommend something in its place. there was one I got from amazon last summer which was wonderful, sturdy,,, perfect for what I needed it for. I wish I could get another to hand my husband, when there's much tidying to be done & I could use an extra set of hands. But, alas, amazon does not seem to be carrying that one anymore. So, with this one packed for return I embark on another search for one that will hold up to its intended use.
